World Street Food Congress Goes to the Philippines

All roads lead to the Philippines for the hawkers all over the world as the World Street Food Congress set this April 20-24, 2016 in the country.

The World Street Food Congress started last 2013, and for the first time, the event will go outside Singapore.

The World Street Food Congress was created by K.F. Seetoh, the man hailed by New York Times as a “Food Guide Maven” and CNN called him the “Guru of Grub”. He was also recognized as Singapore’s Food Ambassador by then President Mr. SR Nathan.



Last Saturday, the Department of Tourism - Tourism Promotions Board held a 15- hour food crawl participated by the World Street Food Congress Organizers, Local Media, International Bloggers and Hawkers.

The 15-hour food crawl showcased different Filipino dishes from restaurants in BGC, Pampanga and Binondo.



The event is expected to attract 100,000 visitors. The event is part of the Philippine Food Month celebration in April.

The event is a partnership between DOT-TPB, Ayala Malls and Makansutra.
