When projects in events management pour in and you can’t
handle it anymore there is only one way to face it and that is cooperate with
your competitors and industry members.
Try as you may, there will come to a point that you will not
be able to serve all the clients. Even if you think that to share projects with
competitor is the antithesis of killing competition. In first place, nobody
said that you have to kill competition. No we you must not kill but strive to stay
ahead of the competition.
The funny thing is the more you share projects with your
competitor or industry members you grow. It is called synergy in coopetition.
Two words that you must keep in mind.
Two words that will place you ahead of the curve – so ahead
that you will feel that Usain Bolt is a slow runner.

Yes, it is similar to a rain. This is the reason I called it
downpour. Have you ever felt it a situation where you are inundated by a lot of
projects and you just smile and take it. As this situation continues you become
selective and just take those things that you can deliver and beg off to things
you cannot deliver or is out of your competence?
But before these things happen the most important question is
how does this downpour occur? I can find two important factors and this is
worth discussing in depth but not today.
I believe that the cause of downpour is our REPUTATION AND
COMPETENCE on the field we are working with. These two factors give us the
SPEED OF TRUST that the clients are giving us.
What are the manifestations of the Trust? Of course, projects
left to right.
Definitely, this is the downpour I am talking about the
projects where in the normal rain you open your umbrella so that you will not
get wet. In our case, we open the umbrella and use it as a bucket to catch all
that we can catch and bask at the feeling of being wet with projects.

Events are full of emotions.
The emotions can go to two extreme poles – happiness to sadness, victory to
defeat, white to dark and ad infinitum.
Such is the character of
events that precision and total care must be given to it. Yes, we can never be
perfect but we can strive for perfection.
If you are just a passive
participant of the events you will be drowned with the stimulus the naked eye
can see. But if you are an active participant of an event, then you are carrying
the burden of delivering the envisioned event.
Events managers and
organizers are active participant of the event, since peaks and valleys are
part of this special world it results to excitement.
Have you ever wondered of
laying all the ground works to predict what is to happen only to be faced with
details and situations that were never considered or overlooked in the planning
stage?
Indeed, excitement builds up
from pre-planning to the actual execution of the events.
Right now, I am enjoying
this emotional roller coaster.

Opening Dance Number - A Great Way to Start the Event |
Barely one day after Negosyo
Power Expo and the good memories and smile flashed by the event participants
still hover around my head.
Yes! It is still another
breakthrough for EXLINKEVENTS as we saw the big VICTORY sign after the end of
the event. As a background, it is the first out-of-town mall expo of Exlink and
the first time we use MarQuee Mall; and it will not be the last time because of
the warm reception we had with the Angeles public.
At the heart of MarQuee, exhibitors get to feel to be the center of attention to all buyers |
They indeed went to look for
business, enjoy the entertainment and games, and learn something new about
going into business.
Even the evaluation results
submitted by the exhibitors are very encouraging. So we went home in a very
jolly mood, scud through NLEX in the middle of the night with a new found
energy and hope.
With this Expo you get connected with your market! |
Indeed, Negosyo Power Expo
connected with the people of Pampanga and they want more!

It is very important to have a plan and to have measurable
goals when you join an expo. The plan and measurable goals gives you target to
put your hard work to focus.
It is very critical that your investment must return more
than the amount you pour in. Otherwise, you are just wasting your time, money
and effort.
For start-up what is critical is to have SALES GOALS to feed
the business and keep it running. Here are three sales goals that you may want
to create measurable targets. Keep in mind without clear numbers there is not
point of joining expo.
The three SALES GOALS are:
1.
Generate Sales Leads
2.
Make Direct Sales
3.
Build a Contact Database
Goodluck and maximize you expo participation.

Tough times call for
creative actions to augment the livelihood needs of the Filipino family.
Kabuhayang Pinoy Expo held last May 5-7,
2011 at Trinoma Mall Activity Center provided one of the venues for the people
of Quezon City, Caloocan, San Juan, Pasig,
Mandaluyong and Bulacan to realize this objective.
Kabuhayang Pinoy Expo is a
business and trade expo that offered educational sessions, entrepreneurial
games and activities and corporate shows for the visitors and attendees of the
event.
More importantly, Kabuhayang
Pinoy Expo attracted more than 50 companies to showcase their products and
services in the event. These companies are composing of small and medium
enterprises on the look-out for new customers and partners.
The good news about the
participation of these companies, Kabuhayang Pinoy Expo helped them meet their
objectives. All the companies generated sales, won new customers, captured
former customers and, most importantly, attracted new dealers and distributors.
These results will allow
these companies to grow and help them meet their target for this year. A proof
that expo is an effective face-to-face communication in promoting products and
services. More importantly, it established the need for Kabuhayang Pinoy Expo
to continue to be staged and grow in order to provide promotion opportunities
to SMEs.
The
event was formally opened by Paulo M. Tibig, President, Association of Filipino
Franchiser Inc. (AFFI), Victor Fernandez, President, Philippine Association of
Service Exporter Inc. (PASEI) and Mitch Ballesteros, CEO, EX-LINK Corp.
“We need more expo like
these that continue to promote entrepreneurship and business so that our OFWs
will be able to grow their hard earned money and permanently stay and take care
of their families”, said Victor Fernandez, PASEI President.
“Franchising is the way to
go if Filipinos wanted to increase their chances of being successful in
business”, added Paulo Tibig, AFFI President.
Companies that participated in
the last Kabuhayang Pinoy Expo highly recommended that other companies join the
event on its next run this coming November 18-20 at MarQuee Mall, Pampanga.
The companies that highly
recommend that other companies join are Brother International, ABS-CBN Foundation,
Camaya Coast, Eton Properties, Moldex
Realty, Victoria Tower, Storage Solutions, American Technologies Inc., Waki Philippines,
G.O. Engineering, I-Concept Solutions, C8 Best Franchising, and Rising Star.
These
companies generated and over-shoot the targets they set for the event; and they
are eager to try more by joining the other business expo that is organized and
produced by Ex-link Management and Marketing Services Corp. (EXLINK).Exlink is
the producer and organizer of Kabuhayang Pinoy Expo.
Kabuhayang Pinoy Expo gained praises because
of the free seminars that include Summer Business Opportunities by Dir. Yerma
Saulon, Quezon City –District Office, TESDA, Why Be an Entrepreneur? By Mr.
Erick S. Kalugdan, President, InfoTxt, For Better Health and Longer Life by Ms. Myra
Gavino, Manager, Malachi Organics,
Personal Money Management for Ordinary Pinoys
by Mr. Alvin T. Tabañag, Pinoy Smart Savers Learning Center, and Responsible
Tourism is Sustainable and Profitable Tourism by Ms. Violeta C. Imperial and Home Negosyong Patok by
Ms.LourdesRiveraChairman, Ultima Entrepinoy Center.
Games like Biz Deal or No
Deal, Gran Merlen Health Competition, Dalhin Mo Sa Akin: KPE! Bring me, and
Pinoy Negosyo Henyo created excitement among the participants and visitors of
the event. A lot of prizes and giveaways was distributed among the lucky
attendees.
Kabuhayang
Pinoy Expo Mission Continues
The Bureau of Small and
Medium Enterprise (BSMED) one requirement is for the start-up business to join
trade fairs and expo. This shows the importance of this marketing tool in jump
starting a business to the road of success.
Kabuhayang Pinoy Expo is now
on its second year and so far it is riding the wave of success due to the high
rate of positive impact it brings to its participants. Because of this expect
Kabuhayang Pinoy Expo to continue its mission of helping existing business
promote their products and services to the market and spread the importance of
entrepreneurship in making the life of a family in its economic aspect better,
and the economic progress of the country faster.
A
Dependable Leverage
Now that there are numerous
testimonials about Kabuhayang Pinoy Expo on its recent success, the challenge
is to convert other companies to join and benefit from the event. Another
challenge is to bring Kabuhayang Pinoy Expo to other parts of the country to
really make a nationwide impact.
Kabuhayang Pinoy Expo is
supported by other media partners and associations. This is one of its secret
for success in its recent schedule. Having said this, SMEs and event large
companies can use this event in their sales promotion activities as they go
directly to the homes and places where their target market gathers.

T. Harv Eker cannot go wrong
when he said this. Nobody could go wrong when they apply this very important
dictum. How on earth will something not expand when you put your mind, soul and
heart to it? How on earth will something not grow when you put in a lot of hard
work to it?
If this is the case, then
why are we not focusing on things that we wanted to have. Why are we not giving
a laser beam focus on things that matter to us? Why are we not embracing the
wisdom of focus.
Better yet there is a power
waiting to be harnessed and unleashed within us once we try to focus.
So next time we meet in one
of the streets of life, I want you to say to me that you have expanded because
you already have the focus.

Speaking of focus, we will
be having Negosyo Power Expo an event focused on promoting small, medium
enterprise by using the most effective tool on generating fast sales and
business partners – the one and only Expo.

Look and Feel Great Expo
starts tomorrow at Market Market Activity Area. I have written I lot of times
about this event (an indication how in love I am in this concept). After
describing the event in words I am now trying to show you through a collage of
pictures the activities that await you. Activities that is exciting, fresh and
vibrant.
They say picture say a
thousand words, and I am allowing the pictures to say to you what you should
not miss in this great event.
See you there and come

After the planning, selling and completion of all
ingredients needed to make an event successful, you are pushed in the waiting corner for the actual day of the event ( which starts not on
the first day of the event but the ingress or move-in day).
This is one aspect of the event that is very difficult. Your
emotions are bottled-up. Anxiety and excitement fights inside of you and your
team. Doubts swirl around your head. Did I accomplish all the necessary pre-event
needs to make this event a BIG S! Is there anything I have overlooked that
could spell disaster during the actual event? Are my team equipped? Is there
anything I could do to make this event better before the actual day of the event?
Yes! The waiting game hangs like the sword of Damocles.
Trepidations are a natural occurrence. A caffeine fix could not even do anything
to allay the emotions that you have inside. It is like you are waiting for the
gate of adrenaline rush to open.
The waiting game is one of the crossroads of the event. It
is where you keep in silence while your mind shouts and your heart pumps in a
rhythm that you cannot define.
Tic...tac ...tic...tac
The clock ticks and your awareness are heightened. Funny but
true, I sometimes experience the hairs of my body go up, akin to watching a
horror movie - excitement, anxiety, paranoia, and hubris, a mix of everything.
This is the waiting game – all you can do, which I and
Exlinkers do, is pray that everything will be alright.
***
If you are wondering what I am waiting to happen - blimey!
It is Look and Feel Great Expo. If you have forgotten, it is this April 15-16,
2011 at Market, Market, and Taguig City.

There are a lot of snack foods available for us to nibble and
enjoy. However, majority are considered junk or bad for our body. If
taken excessively, they can even be a cause of our illnesses. But again,
we cannot seem to stop having them because they have been part of our
entertainment and relaxation time; a part of our lifestyle.
The good news is a healthy snack is now made available which looks
after our health and total wellness. Introducing, Solara.
Solara is a baked multigrain snack food
that offers all the goodness of a regular chip without the “junk”. It is
made from 5 whole grains: Oats, Corn, Barley, Brown Rice and Whole Wheat, which
serve as a good source of FIBER that provide auto-detoxification in the
body. Solara is also enhanced with LECITHIN to aid in weight control.
Solara does not contain transfat, MSG and cholesterol, making it a healthy and
guilt-free snacking experience.
Solara is a great snack food that is yummy and healthy. Once you
start munching it, it will leave you wanting for more. It’s a perfect
companion during office breaks, relaxing at home in front of the TV or
unwinding from a stressful day. So go on, keep on munching Solara.
For all of you who wanted to have a bite of Solara, it will be
available at the “Look and Feel Great Expo”, April 15-16,2011 at Market,
